and one that you can all feel free to throw your opinions at all you want....but when it comes to this....you will not change my mind.
MUSIC IS ART. you can not tell someone what is good or bad. you have to hear it, let it make its impact and choose how it will inspire you. MUSIC IS THE SAME. if you dont think it music worth hearing THEN DONT LISTEN. and ultimately, shut up about it.
my music collection is vast. you will find Frank Sinatra alongside ABBA, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Lady GaGa, Dusty Springfield, the Allman Brothers, Poison, KISS, AC/DC, DC Talk, David Crowder, Madonna, INXS, David Bowie, Against ME! Motion City Soundtrack, Flogging Molly, and SO MUCH MORE.
Music is a vessel, it allows us to feel a time that has passed, takes us somewhere we want to go or simply stops us in a moment we want to remember. When I want to be reminded of how I grew up, the teachings of my family, and hear something that takes me back to a place where everything was simple....NOTHING better than Allman Brothers, Chicago, the Who or a simple rendition of I'll Fly Away on a piano in a church room to put me right back there. This music reminds me of my parents and the life they built for my sisters and myself and all the struggle to raise us up right.
If i want to feel my childhood, i MUST hear some Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul, New Kids on the Block, Janet Jackson, SWV, of NSYNC. i see my sisters. and all that encompasses the memories of growing up with them.
If i want to lose my mind...gimme GaGa, Bieber, Ke$ha, INXS, David Bowie, Queen, any thing that can MOVE MY ASS all over a room, make me sweat and smile and LIVE IN THIS MOMENT!
My point.......... Opinions and Assholes people we all have them.....and sometimes its cool to talk about them with others who have a mind that has been opened enough to know that just because YOU dont like it....it is not irrelevant to EVERYONE.
To claim someone that a record label, The Academy, Radio and others have deemed worthy to invest MILLIONS of dollars in TALENTLESS shows you jealousy, your ignorance, and your stubborness to admit certain things about yourself.
In the church of music; you are the judgemental christians who give the whole thing a bad name.
